What was the highlight of PortoBay Blue Ocean
Great hotel in reasonable location
Great room, well equipped gym, great sauna. Food in restaurant for breakfast & dinner very good. Close to steps to beach. Free parking.
The mini fridge in our room was rubbish, barely got cold, so why bother with one? Dinner is until 9pm but staff start clearing away and stop re-stocking food much earlier - first night, no chicken breast at 8.15pm " sorry it's finished it's late". Staff clear away plates and Cutlery as soon as you put your plate down and get angry if you take another knife & fork from a nearby table, when there are no others anywhere to use "you must ask us for another fork do not take from tables". The town in November is 60% closed so not much to do in evenings. Hotel is opposite a school so constantly hear kids screaming.

Another lovely stay, thank you Good luck with the refurbishment.
We have stayed at this hotel a couple of times before. The rooms are large and airy. The staff are really nice and helpful. Breakfast is very good and such a lot of choice.
The parking is hit and miss but there is plenty at the top of the road which is only a short walk away. We were personally disappointed with the air-conditioning as it didn’t work very well and the ceiling fan makes a noise. We did ask for a quiet room as well, but we got a balcony which faced a busy main road and a school. It wasn’t a problem whilst indoors, but we do like to spend time on the balcony but found it too noisy.

Exceptional
It was perfect, our 6th visit and every visit was better than the last. As a couple it is our Paradise.
The future plan to discontinue it being an adults only hotel. Such awful news.
